Former NBA superstar Kobe Bryant, also known as the Bean and Black Mamba, was one of the best athletes we’ve seen in NBA history. He solidified himself as one of the greats, arguably a top three player, if not the greatest of all time.
Kobe Bryant was drafted in the 1996 NBA draft in a round one pick 13 by the Charlotte Hornets and would later be traded to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Kobe was a phenomenal player throughout his career fighting to be the greatest of all time. He was an offensive powerhouse and one of the greatest scores of all time and an unguardable player.
Kobe had a phenomenal Hall of Fame career during his time in the NBA. His accolades consist of five-time NBA Champion, two time finals MVP, one time MVP (robbed of 2), 18 time All Star, four time All Star MVP, 11 time All NBA First Team, two time All NBA Second Team, three time All NBA Third Team, nine time all NBA defensive team, three time all NBA defensive second team, two time scoring champion, Slam Dunk Contest Champion, All Rookie First Team, and 75th anniversary team, with many other accolades such as 4th for all time points leader.
That’s not even all of his achievements. Read that last paragraph again. You can barely breathe.
But tragically, Kobe Bryant would leave his legacy behind when he and his daughter, Gigi Bryant, would get into an airplane crash. Sadly, they both passed away on Jan 26, 2020. This is the five year anniversary of his death.
Kobe was an icon to the NBA and one of the most notable players we lost.
This hurt many friends, family, and even fans. He was a very inspirational person and it sucks to see another legend gone so soon.
“Great things come from hard work and perseverance. No excuses”- Kobe Bryant.
8-23-1978/1-26-2020 Rip Kobe Bryant
5-1-2006/1-26-2020 Rip Gigi Bryant.
Legends never die.
