Mission vs Sf International, 1/28 at Franklin square 2-1. Mission Wins
Great start from Mission, having possession of the ball the first half and gaining a penalty putting us in the lead scored by Josue Altamirano.
In the 2nd half, we started getting a little wonky letting SFI gain more physical with us resulting in SFI scoring putting us at a tie.
At the end we were able to score one more goal by a free kick scored by Jordan De Arcia Lopez winning us the game.
“Mission started very great first half and throughout the game we were playing really good until like second half at the end where we just started to slack off with defense and effort and that’s when they scored one goal but overall, I think we did really good in first half and then the second, I think we just need to work on keeping the same intensity.” -Kevin Flores in 11th
Mission vs Lincoln Hs, 1/30 at Lincoln Hs. Tie 2-2
Mission was able to score the first goal against Lincoln, scored by Jordan De Arcia Lopez.
Solid start by Mission. In the first half, we had possession of the ball the most. We created a lot of chances and we were giving it our all.
During the second half, we started slacking off a little and Lincoln managed to score a goal outside of the box. Jordan once again got us in the lead by scoring another goal soon after Lincoln scored a goal.
Sadly, we didn’t have many chances after and the game resulted in a tie.
Mission vs Galileo Hs, 2/4 at Mission Hs. 2-0 Mission Wins
Mission did a great job of having possession of the ball on Gal’s side. We were high pressing and had multiple chances to attack which resulted in us winning the game 2-0. Good game by Mission.
Mission vs Kipp, 2/10 at Mission Hs. 0-0 Tie
Mission did not play to its full potential this game. We didn’t have our top goal scorer and we didn’t have our defenders on the sides. Sadly, we couldn’t get a goal behind the net this game, which resulted in the final score being 0-0.
Mission vs Lowell, 2/11 at Mission Hs. 1-1 Tie
Incredible performance by Mission. This is the best game we’ve seen. The game was extremely physical and everyone was giving it their all. Lowell scored the first goal but we tied back not too long after Jordan was able to score a free kick outside of the box. Great game by Mission.
Mission vs Washington, 2/13 at Washington Hs. 2-2 Tie
Good start. Jordan De Arcia Lopez scored the opening goal but was sadly caught up quickly by Wash. Mission had possession most of the time and had more attacks. Jordan managed to score again, but Wash caught up not too long after. Overall, I believe Mission had a good performance, but we weren’t able to keep it 100%, which resulted in Wash being able to score 2 goals.
Nico Alfaro, a junior and midfielder, said, “I feel like we could have done better. We kind of choked at the end, but overall, I think we played good.”
Stay tuned for playoffs next week.
