The Timberwolves beat the Warriors in Game 5, and OKC took down the Nuggets in a tough Game 7. Now they’re facing off in the Western Conference Finals, starting on May 20 at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City and the Target Center in Minneapolis. I think the Wolves will win it. Anthony Edwards is on a mission, and their defense has been strong.
In the East, the Pacers beat the Cavs in Game 5, and the Knicks got past the Celtics in Game 6. Their series starts on May 21. They’ll play at Madison Square Garden in New York and Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Now they’re facing off in the Eastern Conference Finals. Jalen Brunson has been going off, and New York’s defense has been solid. The Pacers are quick, but I think the Knicks will pull it off.
One reason I think the Timberwolves will beat OKC is because of their size. Rudy Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns are big inside the paint, and that could be a problem for the Thunder. If they control the paint, it’s going to be hard for OKC to score easily.
The Knicks have been getting better every round. They play with heart, and their fans bring a lot of energy. Brunson is their leader, but guys like Josh Hart and Donte DiVincenzo are stepping up too. If they stay healthy, they can beat Indiana.
Overall, all four teams deserve to be here, but I think the Timberwolves and Knicks want it more. They’ve shown they can handle pressure and play together as a team. If both win, the Finals are going to be close, but I think the Knicks will take the championship.
