In this article, I will talk about my top 5 skateboarding places to skate in San Francisco. I have been skating for about 5 years, I’ve been to many spots, and I’m making this list to help amateur skateboarders. I will also be stating the difficulty of the spots and the precautions. These places are not ranked, it is just a list in no specific order.
1. Dolores Park Hill Bomb
Each year there is a hill bomb event where everyone goes down the Dolores Park hill at full speed and shows off their skills, but lately, the police officers have been banning skateboarders. The reason is the chaos and traffic stops that happened during the event. One example was last year, in October, someone got stabbed in the back and was rushed to the hospital. However, the hills are pretty steep, the vibe everyone brings is immaculate, and we always end up having a good time. To get here, you can take the J train.
2.Soma West Skate Park
Soma is a good skate park with a lot of things to grind and drop off of. Many people go here because it is very popular among skaters, and a lot of pros hang out there. Sometimes there are events in that skate park. To get to this spot, you need to take the 14 and get off at 13th St at 1712 Duboce Ave.
3. Twin Peaks
Twin Peaks is a very good hill to bomb with your friends after a long day of hardcore skating. It is very fast, so be careful making those sharp turns. You can also see the city while you bomb it. To get here you take the 37 Corbett.

4. Pier 27 stairs
At the Pier 27 stairs, there is a 5-4-3-2 stair in one place. It’s a good place to warm up and hit something crazy. There’s also no trouble with any security; the only problem is the people walking by. Since it’s very crowded, you need to be careful. To avoid this you can go at a later time when it gets darker, but the only downside is it will get cold. To get here, you can take the F Market to Pier 27
5.Wallenberg High School
At Wallenberg, there is an enormous stair set that only pros can do. I personally never have attempted this, but one day I will. It’s a good crazy spot to gain some popularity if you were able to land a trick down this monster of a stair set. It’s located at 40 Vega St.
