El Farolito: one of the best restaurants in SF

Are you looking for a restaurant that has the best Mexican food and has a bar? If you are, I recommend El Farolito.

It’s located at 24th and Mission, right beside the 24th street Bart Plaza. Since it’s near Bart, there’s hardly any parking available. Good thing there are metered parking spaces close by!

This is a cash only business, so make sure to have some on you. Chase, Wells Fargo, and Bank of America are nearby. El Farolito also has an ATM inside.

El Farolito has so many options: seafood, tacos, tostadas, quesadillas, sandwiches, nachos, enchiladas, chiles rellenos, even dessert. But their burritos are the best! They are about ten dollars, but for that amount you can get a huge super burrito. If you don’t want a burrito there are many other options. The portions are AMAZING, they aren’t stingy with the meat. For meat options they have carne (steak), pollo (chicken), chorizo, camarones (shrimp), and carnitas.

The food there is ten-out-of-ten. It’s filled with flavor and you enjoy each and every bite. It’s always perfect.

For beverages they have aguas frescas, horchata, jamaica, and pina. Other options are canned beverages or glass bottled sodas, water, and juices.

I love the horchata there. It tastes so rich and has a good amount of cinnamon flavor, especially when it’s nice and cold. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it.

As for food, I love the burritos, specifically the super burrito. It’s so fat and delicious, it’s filled with your choice of meat, pico de gallo, rice, beans, sour cream, and slices of avocado. Plus, if you add the salsa verde… OMG, you’re gonna fall in love. Their salsa verde is heaven sent, it’s not too spicy and it has a lot of flavor. When you add it onto a burrito it brings it all together.

The first bite is so juicy and delicious, you get the different flavors and none of them are overpowering each other. It’s just right.

The workers at El Farolito are kind and talkative. There’s a bar right beside it as well, if you’re trying to enjoy the night out with your family. It gets pretty packed on Fridays and weekends, but the lines move quickly. They will also bring your food inside the bar or onto the patio.

The patio is filled with lights and tables where you can sit and enjoy your meal. No one bothers or distracts you. There are different locations in the city, but honestly the one on 24th and Mission is the best.

No other place can top El Farolito. Their food is amazing, the clientele is local, and customer service is amazing. In my opinion, El Farolito is such a gem to have on your “to-go” list. Also, there’s many things to do around there. Take your food to go and enjoy it at a park nearby on a sunny day. I recommend this spot to anyone who loves themselves some bomb carnitas. You should go there with your friends!
